Stop Smoking Stress Balls for Veterans

We used these stress balls as part of a "Stop Smoking Kit" to hand out to our countries Veterans in November at The Great American Smoke Out!  Not only were they popular – they were colorful and really drew attention to our booth.  We communicated the Stop Smoking message so much more effectively and to more people than in previous years and sometimes all it takes is for someone to get the idea to stop smoking and then they will actually stop smoking!

Not only were the stress balls colorful but we received them quickly and we got a great price on them.  Our veterans and our staff is very thankful!  We will definitely be repeat customers!

Madigan Army Medical Center, located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord just outside Tacoma, Washington, is  one of the largest military hospitals on the West Coast of the USA. The hospital today is a 205-bed Joint Commission-accredited facility, expandable to 318 beds in the event of a disaster. Major services include general medical and surgical care, adult and pediatric primary care clinics, 24-hour Emergency department, specialty clinics, clinical services, wellness and prevention services, veterinary care, and environmental health services.

Madigan Army Medical Center is one of three designated trauma centers in United States Army Medical Department (AMEDD). In 1999, Madigan became the second military hospital to ever receive a perfect score of 100 from Joint Commission.

Madigan Army Medical Center and other Madigan Healthcare System facilities provide medical support to the Army and Air Force units of Joint Base Lewis-McChord at home and abroad.   The blood donor squeeze balls are given out to blood donors and  have been used by blood mobiles and in the blood donor collection room for the last 20 years..

Our program, Adult Tobacco Cessation Services at Bay Area Community Resources, has been using your stress-reliever balls for several years, and we have always been pleased with their attractiveness and durability. We put together "quit kits"™ for all of our clients who want to quit tobacco. Our quit kits have about a dozen different fun items in them (e.g., nail files, small bubble-making bottles, sugar-free hard candy, etc.) to support the cessation process. These bright, colorful balls are usually the first things clients want to start using; and they are absolutely delighted with being able to choose their favorite color. They tell us over and over again how often they use them to reduce anxiety during the first couple of months of learning to live without tobacco. We even keep extra stress balls on hand to provide additional ones for client's cars and workplaces. Former smokers also report that they continue to use them even after the challenging early days of becoming tobacco free are behind them.

We do some summer High School Drives – our students have loved them.  Also, I worked with a number of Military groups, so have routed the Armed Forces Blood Services balls in that direction.  Our Center is one of six that does provide products directly to the Armed Forces at their request.

I am writing to ask for some stress balls to use in my Craniosacral practice. Just this past Friday, I got back from an Advanced training in Clinical Applications of Craniosacral Therapy with one of the Craniosacral teachers. He uses your balls as Stillpoint Inducers and I am very interested in trying them for this as well. To help relieve their headaches we have our patients put two balls inside a sock and then have our patients lie down with their occiputs cradling the balls.

We give our detainees stress balls. Very few items are allowed in their rooms but they can take the stress balls.  We like that the balls can't be easily destroyed or used for any other purpose and the minors seem to enjoy them. We always go with the yellow and green as they are not gang colors.
